Carson's 6th Birthday

Our big tough boy is 6 yrs old! And boy, is he strong! He weighs a whopping 72 lbs of pure muscle! But underneath all that meat, Carson has such a sweet, caring side. He will save treats from school just to give to his sister or brother. He would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. And he is such a great helper. He loves to work with mommy or daddy and helps the family so much. He is a people person and loves to be around his family & friends. Carson is also doing so well in Kindergarten and is reading a new book each night. He is well-behaved in his classes and shows respect for his teachers. We love our Carson and are so happy to have him in our family. His bright eyes and smiling face make you feel so happy and wonderful!
Carson & Ashley celebrated their birthdays together by inviting friends and family over for a party. (Plans for a sledding party got canceled due to the lack of snow this year, but they still had a blast!)

Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011 was filled with the usual hustle and bustle and excitement of Christmas time,  but also came with a deeper appreciation and love of our Savior. We are so blessed and are eternally grateful for Him.
Christmas Eve was spent with Grandma Cox where we ate a wonderful dinner, acted out the Nativity while reading Luke 2 (the kids were so adorable! ), and of course, presents.
Christmas Day we enjoyed waking up to the kids' excitement and joy as they discovered all the things Santa had brought them. We then went to a musical Sacrament meeting (less than an hour -- Derek thinks EVERY Sunday mtg should last this long!! ;))
Then we headed up to Grandma & Grandpa Anglin's house where the rest of the Anglin family gathered, and we enjoyed more yummy food, more opening of presents, and of course, the annual "Anglin Family White Elephant," which always proves to be loads of fun!
We had a wonderful year and hope that you and yours did too! Feliz Navidad! :)

Family Pics Fall 2011

I'm late in getting these pictures posted to our blog, oops. These are our family pics taken last fall. We love how they turned out!

Candlestick Posts

These were some candlestick posts I made for Christmas for my good friend Susan, who I am lucky enough to have as my sister-in-law too! Derek helped cut the wood for me, and I did the sanding, nailing, and painting. I really like how they turned out. I have a set for me too, I just haven't had the time to get them done. And the cool part is, these can be used as plate and dish holders for parties and buffets. Multi-purpose -- hah hah!!
